How We Started

How it all started…. The Ride To Conquer Cancer – Vancouver, BC to Seattle WA – 2012

Me and my Dad / June 2011

As some of you know, my Dad has been fighting cancer for the past 10 months.

Since he was diagnosed in May he has had surgery to remove the mass in his colon and has completed his chemotherapy treatments at The BC Cancer Clinic.

The surgery and treatments have taken a toll on him. He has lost a significant amount of weight and with that much of his strength. It has been a very difficult time for my entire family, especially for my Mom who is trying to remain strong for my Dad.

I hope after this is all over he will be able to live the rest of his life cancer free and get back to living a full, meaningful life with my Mom and their dog Costa who does not understand what is going on and misses his daily walks in the park.

My Dad’s willingness to fight has inspired me to sign up. The Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting BC Cancer Foundation, is a two-day cycling journey, through Canada’s Pacific Northwest taking place this summer. It will be a challenge in a number of ways, but with my bike, my helmet, and your generosity, a real impact will be made.

Imagine if we could say that we found a cure for this terrible disease in our lifetime!

In the coming weeks and months I will be organizing Pub Nights, Canucks Outings, Cosmic Bowling, Garage Sale and much, much more so I hope to see you and your friends all out at one or more of those fun filled events!!

Lastly, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding sponsorship orĀ  fundraising ideas.
