Hi Courtney!!
Thanks for taking the time to send the kind words.

I went to see my Neurosurgeon yesterday. He was amazed at my 95% recovery rate after undergoing spinal cord / vertebra surgery only 13 short days ago.

Saying that, I have been given full clearance to get back to my day to day routine immediately, road bike training later this week, my strict running regiment in approx 30 days and mountain biking / trail riding in a few months!! Unfortunately my hockey career is over but all things considered I could not be happier.

Anyways, it meant so much to me that you would buy a complete stranger a coffee inn the Royal Columbian Emergency Ward and for that I will be forever grateful. Buying a Starbucks Gift Card for you was only my way of saying you lifted my spirits when they were at their lowest and a cup of coffee never tasted so good.

Keep in touch and please feel free to come to any or all of our fundraising events!!

Bye for now,
Bill de Groot

Hi Bill,
I hope you are feeling well...thank you so much for the Starbucks gift card. I felt absolutely horrible for you that night... especially being a hockey player myself. I hope you have a full recovery and have no deficits left behind. Good luck with your ride and I hope your dad is doing well.
Take care,
Courtney ( your friendly paramedic in the RCH hallway :) )
